We packed up and went to the local Saturday market to stock up on fresh fruits, and had yummy egg, bacon and hash brown rolls for lunch. Then we headed to Te Anau, about 2.5 hours away. Te Anau is a small tourist town sitting on the banks of Lake Te Anau, the largest lake of South Island. It also has 3 inland fiords within it. The water is 8 degrees, so no one swims in it but there are some boats around. After dinner, we played poker, using salt, sugar, coffee and tea sachets as poker chips. We had great fun and even had 3 hands of straight in one game (just imagine how high the bidding went).
