Summary:
We left for Dunedin. It was a very cold day. As we drove along the countryside, it was interesting to note the change in the vegetation - a lot more farmland, and also everything yellow/brown as it is obviously drier on the east coast. All the plants were lush and green on the west coast of South Island, and the rivers were gushing with water.
We checked out the world's steepest street, which is located in the northern Dunedin suburbs. The kids ran up the street, while HM huffed and puffed up. Although steep, it wasn't every long, only about 200-300m. The poor people living there, despite great views, had to put up with loads of tourist going up the narrow street.
Highlights:
MK: Someone roller skated up the steepest street in the world, Baldwin Street.
MJ: We visited the steepest street in the world, Baldwin Street.
MH: The steepness of the steepest street in the world, Baldwin Street.
