Sun 3 Jan 2016 Abel Tasman National Park

Summary:
An early start as we were heading out to do another day walk, this time to the Abel Tasman National Park. We caught a boat to take us to a section of the track which is only accessible by walking a couple of days (part of the 3-5 days Abel Tasman Track). We cheated by boating straight into one of the bays and doing a 12-13 km walk along the coast and even crossing a river by a long swing bridge. The highlight was Cleopatra's Pool, a rock pool where there is a natural water slide. All the boys had a go sliding down the slippery mossy rock while HM played photographer. We saw some interesting birds and fauna (including the iconic silver fern) along the way. On the boat ride back, we saw some seals lounging around the rocks of nearby Adele island. Luckily the weather had improved slightly, we only had occasional short lived showers during our hike.
